Claudelands Events Centre host many concerts and events. Claudelands Event Centre also host a farmer’s market every Sunday from 8am to 12 noon with free entry selling locally grown produce, crafts, coffee and entertainment.

Visiting Parana park is free for the whole family. Parana Park features a children’s garden with the extension of a water feature, interactive native bird sculptures and a small amphitheater and a playhouse. George Parr gifted this attraction to the city with the purpose of it being a quiet place for sick and recovering children to play and relax in.

Waikato’ museum offers exhibits on visual art, social history, tangata whenua and science from touring exhibitions, plus the museums own collections. The Waikato museum is a 5-minute drive across the Waikato River from Aspen Manor Motel. The Waikato Museum is open from 10am – 5pm every day (excluding Christmas day) and is the perfect place for a relaxing and educational day. Admissions into the museum are free, but donations are welcome. Some exhibits may require a fee.
