During the summer, Hamilton Gardens host many events including Gourmet in the Gardens every Sunday from 4pm to 8pm. This event is free to attend and is a major attraction for Hamilton.

 

  1. Claudelands Event Centre

If you plan on attending an exhibition, live music performance, or a sporting event at the award-winning Claudelands Event Centre, then Aspen Manor Motel is the perfect place to stay as it is just down the road. Claudelands Events Centre host many concerts and events. Claudelands Event Centre also host a farmer’s market every Sunday from 8am to 12 noon with free entry selling locally grown produce, crafts, coffee and entertainment.

 

  1. Grey Street Market

This market is in Hamilton East Village, which is just a short walk from Aspen Manor Motel. These markets are held every 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month and run from 8am to 1.30pm. Providing many interesting stalls for you to browse through which provide new and used goods. The stalls offer collectable items, brick a brack, old books, organic vegetables and the local cafes are open for you to grab a coffee before browsing, or grab a bite to eat after a morning of shopping.

 

  1. Parana Park

Located on Memorial drive in Hamilton East, Parana Park is located 1.3 km north of Aspen Manor motel and is the perfect place for walk or to take the family for a picnic. Visiting Parana park is free for the whole family. Parana Park features a children’s garden with the extension of a water feature, interactive native bird sculptures and a small amphitheater and a playhouse. George Parr gifted this attraction to the city with the purpose of it being a quiet place for sick and recovering children to play and relax in.

 

  1. Waikato Museum of Art & History

Visit this multi-award winning museum to learn about New Zealand history and culture. Waikato’ museum offers exhibits on visual art, social history, tangata whenua and science from touring exhibitions, plus the museums own collections. The Waikato museum is a 5-minute drive across the Waikato River from Aspen Manor Motel.  The Waikato Museum is open from 10am – 5pm every day (excluding Christmas day) and is the perfect place for a relaxing and educational day. Admissions into the museum are free, but donations are welcome. Some exhibits may require a fee.
